John Lavery will assume accountability for the consolidation of Health Emergency Management under Fraser Health leadership, effective July 11, 2011. John is currently Executive Director of the Emergency Management Unit for the BC Ministry of Health. In his new role, John will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation and delivery of a single, consolidated Health Emergency Management service across Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health.

He will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive emergency, business continuity and fire safety plan for the Lower Mainland health organizations that meet or surpass provincial and national best practice standards. Some of his immediate deliverables include completing a consolidation plan, preparing a Service Schedule, and establishing a Customer Service Committee as required by the LMC Master Service Agreement.
