Flu Season

Flu Season

Flu season runs from December 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016.  The most effective way to prevent the transmission of influenza is to get a flu shot and follow other preventative measures such as proper hand hygiene.  If staff, contractors and visitors are not vaccinated, they must wear a procedure mask whenever they are in a patient care area during flu season.

Flu shots are available at most local pharmacies, your family doctor, and at any public health clinic.

On-site staff flu vaccinations will begin on October 20th and end on November 30th.  To see the flu clinic schedule for PHC sites click here

Medical Staff will need to self report vaccinations.  Please go to https://flu.providencehealthcare.org/ to report receiving the flu shot. If you have any questions about getting the flu shot or issues with reporting, click this link:  https://medicalstaffhealth.providencehealth.bc.ca/
