Documentary on Palliative Care to be Broadcast on CBC

“Faces of Palliative Care” is a one hour documentary on palliative care recently produced for the Division of Palliative Care, Department of Family Practice, Faculty of Medicine, UBC, by  the Media Services Centre at St. Paul’s Hospital.  This CBC documentary will be broadcast on June 29 at 7:00 PM in British Columbia as part of the “Absolutely Vancouver” summer series of documentaries. It was produced by Dr. Patricia Boston of UBC and produced and directed by Doug Nicolle of the Media Services Centre.

Two years in the making, this moving documentary provides a window into the world of palliative care through the stories of the people who live and die there and the dedicated medical staff who provide care and support. This documentary was shot at various sites in Vancouver including St. Paul’s Hospital, Marion Hospice, Richmond General Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
